Yesterday I picked a date to begin a south to north thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail, the legendary mountain footpath from Georgia to Maine. The first step was telling my boss, who was not too surprised. She always knew that I would leave soon after finishing my Masters work. The second step was telling my financial adviser who just didn't understand. This blog will be a public journal of my preparations. Although I am not certain of the logistics, I hope to update it from the trail. I want to use it to share my experiences and my pictures.
